There are few things in life better than baseball in the summer time…
Players testing their grit…
Teammates {and families} bonding…
Summer sun, red dirt, {blood, sweat and tears}.
And me?
I get to witness it all,
and {if I’m lucky},
I capture some of those moments…
Like my husband picking up a dejected player…
And my son, avoiding a pick-off at first…
Stealing second …
By beating the throw…
In a cloud of dust…
And then stealing third…
He makes me giggle…
All that dirt
and he brushes off his belly?
And he makes me proud,
throwing 95 pitches,
{going the distance},
with intense focus and effort,
using what he’s worked so hard for in the off season.
I watch them share his victory,
proud of this family I have,
grateful for this life.
I love baseball.
